WHAT IS SELF-LIGATING ORTHODONTICS?
Self-ligating braces are a modern type of conventional fixed orthodontic devices. For traditional orthodontic brackets ("paws" on teeth), and small silicone rubber rings (so-called ligatures) fix the tooth-moving arc. In contrast, self-ligating systems do not require rubber rings or additional elements. Here, the special locks - built into the bracket - fix the arch. This way, teeth can be moved with smaller forces, more efficiently. As a result, orthodontics can be implemented discreetly, gently and quickly.

ORTHODONTICS IS PAINFUL
Self-ligating orthodontics have a significantly lower friction in the device due to the lack of rubbers, so the teeth can be moved to the desired position with soft forces. The smaller force on the teeth has several advantages: less discomfort, less tension, less pain at the beginning of the orthodontic and at the arc changes, and the chance of root absorption is also greatly reduced.
